Listen here: We’re Already There

Written and performed by Jules, to the tune “We’re Already There”, written by Frank Myers, Gary Baker, and Richie McDonald

He called us to his side
For the walk into the forest
So he could hear us say “I love you” just one time
And when he heard the sound
Of our feet walking on the cold ground
He had to wipe away a tear from his eye
I knew he had a job to do
And when he asked would we see him through
I said the first thing that came to my mind

We’re already there
Take a look around
We’re the sunshine in your hair
We’re the shadow on the ground
We’re the whisper in the wind
We’re your imaginary friends
And you know you’re in our prayers
Oh we’re already there

I looked him in the eye
Said, “You’ve been so brave my darling”
His father told him, “We are all so proud of you”
And as he kept walking on
He asked will you stay with me
As I go to him and surrender my life
We’re here ‘til the very end
We’re your parents and your friends
You’ll stand tall and won’t put up a fight.

We’re already there
Don’t make a sound
We’re the beat in your heart
We’re the moonlight shining down
We’re the whisper in the wind
And we’ll be there ‘til the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh we’re already there

We may be just a veil apart
But we’re still with you wherever you are
We’re already there
Take a look around
We’re the sunshine in your hair
We’re the shadow on the ground
We’re the whisper in the wind
And we’ll be there ‘til the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh we’re already there
