Listen here: Seven Books

Written and performed by Nina and Ann
To the tune of “100 Years” by Five for Fighting

The boy who lived is a wizard
Finds out he’s famous for somethin’ that he
Don’t recall, thwarts Voldemort, gets the Stone

Then came the Chamber of Secrets
And everybody wonders if
He’s the Heir, but through
Dumbledore truth is shown

The first book starts us on the trail
Of Hogwarts, choice, e’en past the veil,
Harry, has got us all under his spell
And there’s only one more story left to tell

The third year brings the Marauders
Time turners, rat and betrayal of trust
A godfather rescued
Dementors were repelled

Triwizard champions compete
For glory, not knowing
That life is short, the graveyard’s
Twisted rebirth, Cedric’s felled

Goblet marked the midway point
Down the path of Harry’s hero journey
And we followed along
Eager to see what comes next
Harry, has got us all under his spell
And there’s only one more story left to tell

Times get so hard
With Umbridge in charge
Dumbledore’s sent away
Harry’s capslock in play
Sirius is lost
At the Prophecy’s cost

In Half-Blood Prince comes the truth
Of Horcruxes, Voldemort’s dark past
The Chosen One, Dumbledore’s man through and through

Harry stole inside our hearts
Dumbledore taught wisdom’s arts
Severus keeps us perplexed
Wonderin’ what’s to come next
ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Seven books is all we get
A journey we will not forget
Harry, has got us all under his spell
And there’s only one more story left to tell

  1. I’ve listened to this song many times over the last month, and just heard it again on a back-issue podcast of Filkcast. The song gets to me *every* *time* I hear it. Great job. Needs a new ending tho. *sigh*

‘… and now there’s no more stories left to tell…’

    Cheers! :)
