Listen here: Lupin’s Lament

Written and performed by Ann, accompanied by Nina
To the tune of “The Other Side” by David Gray

Meet me on the other side
meet me on the other side
I’ll see you the other side
see you on the other side

Padfoot now if I’m honest
I still wonder why we lost
marauder’s joy and trust that we all four so long had shared
in the rat’s trap we were ensnared
what regret life had to teach
through the veil I cannot reach

Meet me on the other side
meet me on the other side

Maybe I oughta mention
It was never my intention
to harm James or his kin
are we so scared to face our sin
Dementors crawl beneath our skin
we did run as creatures wild
but now there’s no one by my side
all from peter when he lied

Meet me on the other side
Meet me on the other side
See you on the other side
See you on the other side

I know that you were courageous
when you went off to aid us
down in the death room
but there you were to meet your doom,
we watched you sink into the gloom
now all I got is memories,
of the time we were at ease,
hope is fading by degree

Meet me on the other side
Meet me on the other side
See you on the other side
See you on the other side

Padfoot now if I’m honest
I wonder how we lost it
